Project Description

Customer Objective

To increase in-store prepaid top up sales and drive footfall into the store, but permit counter staff to focus on higher margin products.

Solution

A fast and simple self service unit, with additional services and functionality included over time. Cash payment for top up sales was introduced initially and card payment was then included. The transaction services are provided by our sister company H@ND, so no integration with the Vodafone platform was required.
Bill payment has now been included, with the customer scanning a 2D barcode from their smart phone app, the paper bill or their Vodafone bill pay card. Payment may now be made by cash or card.
The third phase is the option to top up by direct reload, with NFC tags used to enter the customer’s number and register for loyalty points.
The chosen solution is a ‘built-in’ one, where the components are enclosed in the architect designed housing to complement the stores design.

Outcome

The first and second phases have been successfully rolled out. The solution is steadily growing transaction volumes and is particularly welcome at busy times.
